Overview

Midday is a self-hosted email client designed with privacy and security as top priorities. This privacy policy explains how Midday handles your data when you use the application.

Data Storage

All your email data is stored locally in an encrypted SQLite database on your device or private server. Midday does not send your emails to any external servers except when you explicitly use features that require external services (such as OTP detection).

No one has access to your data except you. Since Midday is self-hosted, you maintain complete control over where and how your data is stored.

Email Access

Midday connects to your email provider using IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) or OAuth where supported. Midday requires standard email permissions: read, send, delete, and manage emails. These permissions are necessary for Midday to function as an email client.

Your email credentials are stored securely on your device or server and are never transmitted to Midday's servers or any third parties.

OTP Detection Feature

Midday offers an optional OTP detection feature powered by Anthropic's Claude API. This feature is only activated manually when you click a button. When used, Midday sends the email content to Anthropic servers for processing.

You must provide your own Anthropic API key to use this feature. Midday does not store or have access to your API key. Your email data is not continuously sent to Anthropic—only when you explicitly trigger OTP detection.

No Data Collection

Midday does not collect, track, or analyze your personal information, email content, or usage patterns. We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or any data collection mechanisms. Midday operates entirely locally on your device or server.

Third-Party Services

Midday connects directly to your email provider's servers. Your use of Midday is also subject to your email provider's privacy policy and terms of service.

When using the OTP detection feature with Anthropic's API, your use is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy and terms of service.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Midday after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
